Aurore

Support

Aurore has no account and no automated help desk: write, and someone reads. In the meantime, most questions are answered here.

Write to us

assistance@auroreapp.fr — in French, English, Italian or Spanish. Answer within two working days.

If your message is about a problem in the app, say which device (iPhone, iPad or Mac) and which system version. We have no other way of knowing: nothing you do in Aurore reaches us.

Three other addresses exist, so that your message lands in the right place rather than in a shared queue:

My paper is empty

A paper is built over a rolling twenty-four hours. If it is empty, the sources you follow have published nothing since yesterday, or none is followed yet — the Directory tab is there to choose some.

The freshness setting plays a part too: in Essentials, Aurore keeps only the stories several newsrooms covered. Switch to Everything to see it all.

A source has stopped updating

The feed may be dead. Open it in the directory and use Report a problem: we check, fix the address when it has moved, and remove the source from the directory when it is gone. Everyone benefits.

A source I read is missing

The directory grows through its readers. From the app, or from this page, suggest the address of the site or the feed. We check that it answers, then add it for everyone.

What does the free tier include?

Twenty followed sources, one themed paper, and the last seven days of papers. Everything else in the app is there: the daily paper, the grouping of duplicates, the summaries, the widgets, the highlights. The one-off purchase lifts those three limits, for good.

There is no trial period that expires: the app stays usable for as long as you want.

I have changed device

Your sources, your reading and your highlights follow your iCloud account: they reappear on their own on a new device signed in to the same account. Your purchase follows your Apple account — Settings → Restore purchases finds it without paying a second time.

Erase my data

Deleting the app erases everything it kept on the device. What was synced is removed from the system iCloud settings.

We have nothing to erase on our side: the server holds no reading data, and has no way of knowing who you are. The privacy page sets out the only two things it receives.

The text is too small, or not contrasted enough

Everything is adjustable while you read, without leaving the article: the “…” menu at the top right — on Mac, the bar above the text — holds text size, typeface and background. The size goes all the way up to the system's accessibility sizes, far beyond what a paper newspaper allows.

For low vision, two settings matter: the High contrast background (black on white) or High contrast dark (white on black, less dazzling if light bothers you), and the Stronger contrast switch, which turns the ink pure, thickens the text and asserts the rules across the whole app. Both high-contrast backgrounds are free and will stay free. The Atkinson Hyperlegible and OpenDyslexic typefaces, drawn for low vision and dyslexia, are included too.

The article does not display properly

Some pages — paywalled articles, sites built by script — resist extraction. Aurore then falls back on a built-in browser that keeps your cookies, and therefore your press subscriptions. It is a fallback, not a failure.
